Sam Griffiths

We are proud to sponsor leading international event rider - Sam Griffiths. A native of Australia, Sam made the decision to move to England in 1995 to make a career for himself in the UK as an International Event Rider where he could compete against the best in the world.

On his move to the UK, Sam trained and worked as a back up rider for double Olympic gold medallist, Matt Ryan for three years, where he made the most of this fantastic opportunity to train and compete all levels of event horses. But Sam had always wanted to make it on his own and in 2004 he left Matt's base to establish his own team of horses.

His team of horses has gone from strength to strength and in 2004 he was named as reserve for the Australian team for the Athens Olympics. Since then Sam has ridden several horses to top 10 placings at Badminton, Burghley and Blenheim.

You may have seen Sam and his team of talented horses modelling several products from the Tri-Zone® range and it is through the use of Equilibrium's products that Sam became a huge fan of these boots. Sam commented "I'm delighted to be supported by such a professional company as Equilibrium. All their products are first-class and I know that when my horses wear their tri-zone® boots they're receiving the best level of protection possible."

" The boots have been fantastic - they really have been 'put through their paces' (excuse the pun!) with the large number of horses I have had out competing this year. The cross country boots are very sturdy and stay in place despite some of the incredibly wet ground conditions I have been riding in this year. The vented system allows the legs to 'breathe' and therefore keeping their legs cool which I believe has to be the way forward for the welfare of the horses. I have been equally pleased with the overreach boots - they are very solid, offering great protection and they do not twist around the foot as so many other boots can do. I have every confidence that the Tri-Zone boots will be comfortable and offer maximum protection for all my horses. "

We'll be keeping you up to date with Sam's activities and events throughout the year, so do come back regularly to see how he's doing!
